We had the opportunity to create a vibrant projection mural at the Worldmark by Wyndham hotel in Anaheim. Lumen & Forge collaborated with Master Graffiti Artist, Robert Gomez, to combine his still art murals with our immersive digital content. Using our projection mapping systems, we turned his painting into a live mural for Guests to enjoy year-round at the new permanent installation.
The projection mural is a permanent immersive installation located in the lobby of the Wordmark by Wyndham hotel in Anaheim. The team set up a total of four projectors with two on either side in order to create seamless projection mapped visuals. The multi-projector setup enabled us to perfectly edge blend the projection and align our custom visuals with the mural . The painting created by Robert Gomez of Blank Canvas LA is titled, “Out of this World”, which features astronauts in space over a Hollywood skyline. The title was named in homage to how the hotel’s Guests describe their experience staying at the Wyndham.
We created custom content to bring Robert’s art to life. Some of our scenes include spotlights highlighting the Hollywood sign, a meteor shower over the landscape and even the classic man fishing on the moon.
Robert Gomez embodies Southern California’s diverse culture that has influenced the world, including graffiti street art, Hollywood, beaches, palm trees, and a magical allure that’s impossible to find elsewhere. Whimsical depictions of Disney’s Mickey & Minnie Mouse were also featured around the hotel, continuing with the Disneyland themed decor that is ever present around Anaheim.
