It’s the ultimate photo-op for those Instagram-worthy moments with the view of the Las Vegas strip as your backdrop.
The event was a major hit for New Year’s Eve 2022 where guests enjoyed the fireworks from the comfort of their private igloo dome. LUMEN AND FORGE IGLOO-STYLE ROOFTOP DOMES
There are endless possibilities for using a Lumen and Forge Geodesic Domes for your next event. The beauty of using this type of dome is their simplicity in design, plus they are very aesthetically pleasing. The type of dome we provided for this event is called a geodesic dome. These domes require no additional materials to set up, aside from an easy to assemble steel frame, weather resistant vinyl cover, and ballasts to anchor the dome securely to the ground. It may seem almost too good to be true, but these domes are incredibly strong and rigid. This is thanks to the distribution of weight throughout the triangular elements, making them the perfect option for a rooftop event.
For this project, we provided six of our Lumen and Forge 13ft (4m) geodesic domes. The frame is stainless steel with a white powder coating, adding to the igloo look. The high-quality vinyl cover is designed to withstand any kind of weather, including wind, rain, and snow. Plus, the clear vinyl is perfect for getting a view of the Las Vegas Strip. These covers have a zipper door that can be opened and closed at any time- perfect for keeping the warmth inside on a chilly Las Vegas night!
Lumen and Forge Geodesic Domes are built with strong steel geodesic frames and can be covered in a variety of vinyl “skins.” These structures are incredibly versatile and can be catered to multiple sizes from 10’ to 120’. The simple setup means that these structures can be installed anywhere and can take a few hours to a couple of days to set up depending on the size. The futuristic design demands attention and creates a sense of curiosity from those who see them. Make a cozy dining experience for your guests just as we did for Rose Rooftop. Use them as an exhibition booth at a tradeshow; the opportunities are endless! If you would like to learn more about geodesic domes, check out this article.
Here are some ideas on how you can use a geodesic dome for your business.
Igloo Domes at Resorts World
Restaurant & Bar Industry
Jump ahead to the 20th century and the heady early days of computing when we moved from awkward ‘Turing’ machines and vacuum tubes and began to experiment with sophisticated programming. In the early 1960’s Ivan Sutherland invented a program called ‘Sketchpad’ but often nicknamed the ‘Robot Draftsman’ which revolutionized how computers were used and the history of 3D visualization was changed forever. Previously, computers had been, effectively, advanced calculators to perform intricate mathematics for military and scientific purposes. Sutherland, however, had the idea to use them to interactively render architectural concepts in 3 dimensions and designers and artists were brought into the active creations of these renderings.
There is no question that a geodesic dome can add an air of sophistication and luxury to any restaurant or bar, just as Resorts World (event name) did for their winter event. But what else can you use a geodesic dome for in your own restaurant?
In addition to being stunning and eye-catching, a geodesic dome can also have a number of practical uses in a restaurant setting. For example, it can be used as a unique dining area that can be rented out for private events. Your guests can have a little privacy all while enjoying the restaurant experience. Plus, with the COVID-19, a private dining area can not only entice guests to eat out in groups, but also keep them safe! The domes can be custom built to any size, meaning you can use them for small or large dining groups.
Restaurant patios can bring in a lot of additional business, especially in the summer- though rainy weather may deter guests. If you have a covered patio rain might not be an issue, but cooler weather may pose a bigger threat. Using an outdoor geodesic dome in your patio space allows you to keep your patio going all year round. Guests can remain out of the elements or nice and toasty in the comfort of their own dome.

Tradeshow Booths
When you’re planning a tradeshow, there are a lot of decisions to make. One of the most important is what type of booth to create. Geodesic domes are perfect for tradeshows because they offer plenty of space inside, while also being visually appealing. Plus, they’re easy to set up and take down, which makes them a great option if you’re on a tight budget or schedule.
Depending on the type of trade show you’re planning on attending, you’ll need a booth that’s big enough to fit all your products or properly showcase your services. The domes provide ample space to stand, move around, and display items. Plus, the vinyl cover can be used in a variety of ways. One of the best uses of the vinyl cover is to use it as a projection display. This can allow you to project digital content onto the surface of the dome to create an immersive experience. Immersive experiences capture people’s attention and leave lasting impressions. It’s the perfect way to stand out at any trade show!
